Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Pasto, the “Surprise City”

Day 2: Sandoná, “Route of Sweetness and Color of Nariño”

Day 3: Ospina and “Sanctuary of Our Lady of Las Lajas”

Day 4: Sanctuary of the Virgin of Peace - Tulcán, Ecuador, “The Sentinel of the North”

Activities: Arrival at Antonio Nariño Airport in Chachagüí, reception, and transfer to Pasto. Hotel check-in. Tour of the city's main points of interest, such as colonial and republican churches, museums, squares, and craft centers. Lunch. San Juan de Pasto is recognized as the "Surprise City of Colombia", famous for its imposing religious architecture and as the cradle of artists and artisans whose works are made using techniques unique in the world, such as tamo straw inlay and Pasto varnish, originating from the region's indigenous ancestry. Hotel transfer and accommodation in Pasto.

Activities: Breakfast at the hotel. Trip to the Güilque Waterfall, the sweetest road in Nariño, leading to the beautiful town of Sandoná. Its imposing Gothic-style stone church houses one of the largest hand-carved wooden Christs in the world, declared a National Heritage. In Sandoná, toquilla straw crafts (like hats) and the ancestral rudimentary panela industry sustain its friendly people, all framed within a beautiful Andean landscape. Lunch, drive along the Galeras Volcano Circumvallation road visiting a picturesque set of small towns where nature gifts a beautiful landscape. Return to Pasto and hotel accommodation.

Activities: Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to the municipality of Ospina, where imposing landscapes between mountains and plateaus unfold; there we will visit the Christ the Redeemer monument, walking along natural trails. Visit to the municipality of Túquerres for lunch. Then, 7 km from Ipiales, we will visit the Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Rosary of Las Lajas, a jewel of our country's architecture and religiosity. The sanctuary owes its devotion to multiple miracles dating back to the 18th century, considered "topographically the most beautiful in the world; religiously the most visited in Latin America; and architecturally the most audacious and original in Colombia." Transfer and accommodation in Ipiales (Hotel Loft or similar).

Activities: Breakfast at the hotel. Opportunity to visit the city of Tulcán, "The Sentinel of the North" that opens the doors to Ecuador, highlighting its "green sculptures"—figures crafted in cypress trees considered its main tourist attraction and a National Heritage of Ecuador. Lunch and visit to the Grotto of the Virgin of Peace, unique in Carchi and Ecuador (no similar one is known in South America). The Apaquí River crosses the grotto for about 120 m, featuring an emerald-green vault with hanging stalactites and stalagmites inside. Transfer and accommodation in Ipiales (Hotel Loft or similar).

Day 5: La Cocha, “Refugio del Sol”

Activities: Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to the village of El Encano, located 25 km east of Pasto, taking a boat ride to tour La Cocha and admire its landscape. Lunch and visit to "Puerto", a picturesque village characterized by Swiss-style architecture. Transfer and overnight stay at Hotel Sindamanoy in La Cocha.
